# How Learner Seats Work

> Understand how seats are assigned, used, and reclaimed.

## What is a seat?

A seat allows one learner to access and complete courses.

Each learner added to your group occupies one seat.

***

## Can seats be shared between learners?

No.

Seats are assigned to a single individual and cannot be transferred.

This ensures accounts remain a long-term learning resource.

***

## Can I reclaim unused seats?

Yes — if a learner has **not started any courses**, you may remove them to reclaim the seat.

⚠ Removing a learner deletes their account.

***

## Why can’t I remove a learner?

Learners cannot be removed once they:

* start a course
* complete training

This prevents reassignment after course completion.

***

## Why this policy exists

Preventing seat reuse allows us to:

* keep costs low for trainers
* maintain long-term learner access
* support ongoing professional development
