# Instructor & Group Leader Overview

> Understand your role and permissions as a Group Leader.

## What is a Group Leader?

If you have been assigned **Group Leader** permissions on Research Animal Training, you can manage learners and monitor their progress.

Group Leaders can:

* Add learners to groups
* Manage group membership
* Monitor course progress
* Email learners

You may be the Group Leader of **multiple groups**.

## Admin Access

Group Leaders have access to an **Admin** menu item within the platform.

This provides access to group management and progress tools.
